Watery Eyes

The aim is to treat the underlying pathology.

Abnormal eyelid positions may be corrected with surgery and a heat treatment (Cautery) may correct mild forms of everted eyelids.

Any ocular surface irritation and blepharitis are addressed and any ocular foreign bodies need to be removed to stop reflex tearing.

Lacrimal syringing to flush out proteins and mucus accumulated inside the tear ducts are performed in the office to relieve partial obstructions.

Persistent and total obstructions of the tear ducts may require bypass drainage surgery to the nose (Dacryocystorhinostomy)
